Dr. Ahsan Rana is an Associate Professor of Social Policy at the Suleman Dawood School of Business at LUMS. He obtained his MS degree in Social Planning and Development from the University of Queensland and a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Melbourne. He has an extensive and experiential understanding of public policy and governance, developed through his career as a civil servant in the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and as a consultant for international development organisations. His research interests include Welfare Capitalism, particularly in Pakistan. He has authored several journal articles, book chapters, management cases, and working papers on the subject. His research has culminated in his book Hain Kawakib Kuch, a comprehensive treatise in Urdu, based on three years of research and multiple academic reviews and revisions.
